Katy Merchant competed at the Women's Golf National Championships in Coal Valley, Illinois on May 11th-14th. The freshman out of Gunter, TX has led the lady lions all season, with multiple top two finishes throughout the year along with a regional ranking of 23rd.

In a round of four, Merchant started the first two days strong with a +12 for each round. Merchant concluded round three with a +18, and then came back to finish with her best round score of +11 in the fourth. Merchant finished with a total score of +53, taking 56th overall, improving on her original national ranking of 63.

After an exciting run at the National Championships, we look forward to Merchant's return for the 2026-2027 season.
