Lions Fall to Rebels; Defeat DFW Post Grad

NCTC baseball competed against Hill College on April 11th & 13th, then took on DFW Post Grad at home on the 15th.

At Hillsboro, the lions dropped a close first game of the doubleheader 3-4. Logan Sanchez stands out as the highlight offensive player of the game with 3 RBI off of a home run. Brooks Griggs-Bell pitched the first four innings facing 22 batters with 2 strikeouts, and Jax Stockton closed out the game facing 8 batters with 2 strikeouts. Battling hard, the lions fell just short in the final inning. Going into game two, the lions started strong at 2-0 through six innings. The rebels came back in a strong seventh inning, and ultimately taking the game 8-2. The lions fell in game three and four at home, with final scores of 6-10 and 2-17.

Bouncing back for a fifth game on the week, NCTC took on DFW Post Grad, with a big 9-4 win. A combination of 2 RBI each from Colson Wood, Ty Besker, and Andrew Roberts ran up the scoreboard for the lions. Brady Brooks and Jackson Ridge also contributed an additional RBI a piece. In a solid team effort, the lions took charge early and carried the momentum to the finish.

Next up, the lions continue their conference run facing McLennan Community College on April 15th in Bosqueville, then again at home on the 18th.
