The lion baseball team competed at Western Oklahoma State College on February 27th and 28th.
On day one, the lions dropped game one and two with final scores of 2-8 and 1-11. In the rematch doubleheader, the lions came back strong taking game three 13-6. Colson Wood led the offense earning 4 RBI with a home run and a double, followed by Kai Reid and Austin Myer who also both earned 3 RBI with two more homers. Erick Martinez added 2 RBI with a double, and Jackson Ridge earned 1 RBI to help secure the team win. On the mound, Matthew Clark and Williams Hickson pitched 3 innings a piece, with Clark facing 18 hitters earning 2 strikeouts and Hickson facing 16 with 5 strikeouts.
In game four, the lions battled hard to the finish but fell short by one with a final score of 8-9. Colson Wood and Austin Myers again had a strong batting showout earning 3 RBI each, with Wood hitting another homer. Andrew Roberts also contributed to the scoring, with a double to earn 1 RBI. Merrick Beamish and Isaiah Castaneda pitched 3 innings a piece with Beamish facing 18 batters earning 5 strikeouts and Castaneda facing 13 with 2 strikeouts.
